The new Chevrolet from American automaker General Motors will not be imported to Israel because of the name SS (Super Sport).
Israel authorities have refused to import new Chevrolet SS, explaining this fact with abbreviation association in title (military units of Nazi Germany, whose members are accused of crimes against humanity).
According to Times of Israel, Chevrolet SS, two letters of the name of which are stand for Super Sport, was first presented last weekend at Florida Daytona Speedway race track. For 17 years of existing of Company, new Chevrolet car has become its first rear-drive sedan.
Earlier, in Jerusalem, the leader of Yad Vashem memorial Baruh Shuv talked about confused abbreviation of SS Chevrolet, noticing, that this was not a name, that could brought pride and success.

By the way, the first production car of SS model was Impala-453 of 1961 year. The latest version of SS Chevrolet line has become Camaro of the fifth generation (2010).
