Window tinting sure looks great when professionally done. It adds a nice, streamlined look to the vehicle and reduces the amount of sunlight entering the vehicle, but are there other perks to window tint? Of course, and understanding these perks may convince you to opt into some new window tint for your own vehicle. However, before taking it out, make sure you know what your state laws are for window tinting. In order to keep both drivers and police officers safe, the window tint percentages are strict and enforced through often steep fines (not to mention requiring you to pay for the tint removal).

The Laws and Window Tint Percentages

(clicable)

Make sure to look up the state law requirements on window tinting percentages for your particular state. There are different requirements in each state and even sides of the vehicle have different percentages. In Nevada, you can’t have the front of your vehicle exceed 35 percent, while Arizona you can’t exceed 30 percent. Every state changes, so understanding the tint laws is important. You don’t want to pay to have tint professionally installed only to find out you need to take the vehicle back in and pay to have it removed. However, you really don’t need to exceed these percentages in order to take advantage of what window tint can do for you.

The laws are put into place for a few reasons. First, at a certain point, the tint becomes too much and seeing what is in front of you on dimly light roads becomes difficult. Additionally, officers need to be able to easily see inside of the driver’s compartment when approaching the vehicle (which is why limos can have tinted side windows by the driver’s window remains clear). Now. There are a few exceptions to the rules though. Some drivers with a visual condition and are overly sensitive to light can have their windows tinted to a maker percentage. They do need to carry the doctor’s notice at all times though, as they are likely going to be pulled over from time to time. As long as it is for a medical condition, the tinting can remain.

Window Tint Percentages and Benefits

Tinted windows can provide a few different benefits. First, the tint prevents glair often caused by oncoming traffic and the bright lights produced by some of these vehicles. Many new vehicles use powerful lights, so to counteract these lights, the tint does prevent accidental blinding while driving. On top of this, it blocks out harmful UV rays, similar to a pair of sunglasses. So, tinting has many desirable benefits.

The window tint percentages do not need to be drastically high in order to provide desirable benefits. A window with 10 to 20 percent tint applied to it can offer desirable improvements, especially when placed on the front window. The front window is a fine line between improving visibility to reducing too much light in front of the driver. Higher window tint percentages is not needed to improve visibility, and while most states sit around the 30 percent window tint percentages, taking advantage of 10 to 20 percent can do everything a driver might need.

Vehicle Improvements

Window tints when professional installed can make a world of different for drivers. From reducing glair to improving visibility, drivers can gain dramatically from these tints. However, it is important to understand state laws on the tinting percentages and to make sure the state laws are always followed in order to avoid expensive tickets and required repairs. As long as everything is followed correctly, the window is sure to look great while improving the look of the vehicle itself.

Figuring out the cost to wrap a car in a solid color is a complicated process. Solid wraps are much more difficult than full color wraps when trying to making the wrap look clean. The reason for this is that you can see every imperfection on a solid wrap, but on a full color wrap little imperfections are not noticeable. The designs and logos distract from any imperfections, so the wrap does not need to be as carefully applied. The need for such precise application of solid wraps makes the pricing a troublesome duty.

One would think that a car wrapping company would know the price just based on the model of the car. It is actually more difficult than that. When a customer buys a car, he is given choices of what features or bundle he would like. This means that your car wrapper must personally inspect your car in order to evaluate how difficult the application of the wrap will be.

Average cost to vinyl wrap a car

Car body types info

Vehicle Wrap Process

The most important thing that the person inspecting your car will look for is what pieces of hardware need to be removed. Some things are easy to remove. Brake lights, handles, mirrors, and antennae are all not a problem to take off, but these are things that could stay on the car for a full color wrap. This is labor that normally isn’t needed. The labor can get even more intensive if there is difficulty removing a piece that was thought to be easy to remove. Some cars are more intricately put together than others, so removing a mirror might reauire taking apart the door instead of popping it off.

Once all of the hardware is removed, a deep cleaning of the car is necessary. This is especially important when dealing with lightly colored wraps. If water on the car drips into a dirty crevice, it can drip back out and cause brownish streaks on your wrap. You can get away with this on a black or even a dark-blue wrap but most of the time, the car is going to have to be thoroughly cleaned.

As we mentioned before, every imperfection matters. In order to minimize the imperfections the wrap needs to be very delicately applied with the correct amount of heat and stretching. Too much heat or stretching and the entire wrap could look warped. Too little of either and the wrap would look sloppy and be prone to lifting.

The last part of the process is the post-heating of the wrap. This is extremely labor intensive because the worker must be sure to evenly distribute heat on centered areas and pay extra attention on areas that could be problematic in terms of lifting (corners, edges, etc.). This sometimes can take several hours on a solid wrap.

This arduous process is the reason the cost to wrap a car can vary from place to place. Let your wrapper know exactly how you would like it done and educate yourself about the wrapping process. Look at some of the work they have done in the past and make sure you get a quote that is appropriate with their level of work.

If you have ever wondered, what does SUV mean, this should provide the answers you have been looking for. SUV is a type of car body. Is a bit of a cross between a truck and a jeep, or a van and a jeep. The SUV usually offers a significant amount of room compared to a standard jeep or small truck; four or five adults can fit into this type of vehicle comfortably. The term is Sports Utility Vehicle, shortened to the letters SUV, and can be applied to a range of similar-type cars, truck, and van type of automobile. Specifically, one description says that they are a bit like a station wagon but built on top of the chassis of a small truck. While that is an oversimplification, it gives you some idea of the space available and durability of the end result.

What does suv stand for? What makes it different than a standard truck, car, jeep, station wagon, etc. is the fact it has some features of several ordinary vehicles rather than all the features of one standard vehicle. For example, four-wheel drive as a truck might have, the towing ability of a truck (and sometimes a front-mounted winch); the seating room of a sedan sized car, and of course storage space as you might see in a minivan. Almost every car maker has an SUV model available. Some models include the Hyundai Sante Fe, Ford Escape, and Toyota Rav 4. Mid-size models include the Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, and Dodge Nitro. Larger SUVS models are the Ford Excursion, Chevy Tahoe, Chrysler Aspen, and Cadillac Escalade.

What does SUV mean? An SUV crossover is more of a merge between a standard SUV and a station wagon type of vehicle. Examples of this type can be found in models Mazda CX-7, Saturn Outlook, Buick Enclave, and the Ford Edge. What makes a crossover SUV different is that these vehicles will typically have the same features of an off-road vehicle, yet handle the same way a car would. Standard SUVs are built on a light truck platform, and crossover SUVs are built on car platforms. Crossover and standard SUVs both have higher ground clearance than other vehicles and larger seating capacity. The standard version starts at 8,500 pounds weight while the crossover models must be under 8,500 pounds in weight.

A hatchback type of car has its body configured in a way that it has a rear door that swings in an upward manner to open and provide access to the cargo area, unlike its traditionally compared to sedan that has a trunk for storage and a window at its rear with the trunk hood hinged below the window that run from the of line to beneath the rear seats. Hatchbacks may have a fold-down second row seating feature further extending the cargo area. This enables accommodation of more cargo volume. Hatchbacks may feature 2 or 3 box designs. A hatchback has less than 3 roof pillars; these are pieces of metal running from the side panel or door to the roof between windows. This is used to distinguish them from station wagons that have an additional roof pillar separating the rear panel from the roof. Hatchbacks do come in three door models; two doors and the hatch and five door models; four doors and the hatch.

(clicable)

Advantages and disadvantages of the hatchback

Basically the main advantage of acquiring a hatchback is the fact that it is able to transport large and oversized cargo since the rear sets can be folded down creating extra spacing for cargo. Hatchbacks do have spectacular, versatile and large cargo areas, hands down. Probably more than triple the size of that of a Sedan cargo space with the back seat folded.

Hatchbacks are also easy to maneuver with, due to their relatively small sized bonnets and boots that do not protrude.

Disadvantages of Hatchback

Depending on the vehicle hatch’s pivot point, the typical hatchback may require more space for it to open the hatch. A hatchback cannot reverse too close to a wall or another vehicle.

A hatchback too may fail to provide for the privacy of cargo in the public since it opens wide.

The hatchback also cost slightly higher in relative comparison to the sedan.

Popular hatchback vehicles

The hatchback is generally quite a common car find in our roads; you probably wouldn’t stay for more than a few minutes before seeing a bunch of them passing past or by. Some of the popular hatchback models do include;

A hybrid means a combination of two different things to form one major item. In the auto world, Hybrid cars are vehicles that use two power trains, i.e. electric motor and gasoline engine. Hybrid cars are have become increasingly popular in the market, but most buyers may not know certain realities about them. This article attempts to explain some facts and a little history of hybrid cars.

There has been an increasing demand for production of eco-friendly vehicles that uses energy efficiently. Electricity is so far the most efficient and cleanest source of energy. For this reason, the turn of the century saw engineers attempting to develop a useful electric automobile. However, electric cars are good on the road but can’t last long. It has forced automakers to look for alternative solutions and thus the birth of hybrid. A hybrid can provide enough power while using little fuel.

Hybrid cars do not normally need plugging into an electric outlet for a recharge; they instead charge themselves by the use of energy lost during braking and also by the gasoline engine of the car. Hybrids are available in different sizes either in compact or midsize automobiles.

In terms of price, hybrids are more costly than a conventional gasoline engine. In the market, the cheapest hybrid sells at a little lower than 20,000 dollars. The most expensive hybrid, on the other hand, costs a little higher than 100,000 dollars.

Hybrids are safe to use. However, there are worries about destruction to batteries in case accidents occur. The concerns have all the same been addressed by the manufacturers, who educate emergency responders when such incidents occur.

Complete hybrids have luxury structures to make driving comfortable. They have advanced features such as an iPod interface, navigation systems, Bluetooth capability, automatic climate control and keyless start systems. There are also attractive readouts that display detailed information on power stream and fuel economy of the car.

Hybrids use various techniques for power. It may switch from the conventional engine to electric momentum at a stop. It might also turn off the motor when it stops and revive again when you start the car; hence saving some fuel. Under acceleration, hybrid cars may increase electrical support to a small motor. The engine may also shut down when driving down a hill. With a hybrid, you have a broad range of performance.

Driving hybrid cars is quite simple just like other cars, excluding the fact that if stopped for an extended time, gasoline motor automatically shuts down. An important fact, to take note of, is that not all hybrid autos are the same. Hybrids cannot run on an electric engine alone when the car halts and the gasoline engine shuts down. The Prius hybrid car receives fuel economy which Honda does not. The air condition and heat systems fail to work when the gasoline motor halts.

Problem hybrid cars are inevitable as is in every other car model. One notable problem is with the battery. Problem with hybrid car batteries revolves around the system. Most hybrid batteries are fused to the power train. The problem emanates when the batteries don’t have the capability of holding a charge. The car will not work and will require battery replacement. Additionally, it is not easy to tell when the battery might stop working. Most hybrids last up to 150,000 miles, while others flop at 90,000 miles. It shows that purchasing a used hybrid is an enormous risk.
