The most expensive car in the world is a Lamborghini, which is familiar enough. The Lamborghini Veneno has a price of $4 million dollars. However, three of them are being made and they’re all sold already. The V12 engine is naturally aspirated and rocks 750 horsepower, allowing it to do 0-60 in just 2.8 seconds.

The less well known expensive cars come from companies like Lebanon’s W Motors. At $3.4 million, the W Motors Lykan Hypersport is the second most expensive car in the world but it’s also a bit hard to pin down exact production numbers.

Bugatti’s Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ranks third at $2.6 million, the Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster ranks fourth at $1.8 million, and the Aston Martin One-77 also ranks fourth tied at $1.8 million. Then the top ten sees yet another Lamborghini, the Reventon at $1.61 million.

If you want to buy a car in the top ten, you’ll need over a million, it seems. The next five are all over one million except for the 10th most expensive car, the McLaren F1, which is just a mere $970,000.

In Sweden, Koenigsegg has made the Agera R available for $1.6 million, giving it the rank of 6th. The Pagani Huayra (pronounced why-rah) has doors that lift up vertically and gives it the look of having wings, and costs just $1.3 million. Also at $1.3 million is Ferrari’s La Ferrari, whose wings raise both vertically and twist to face forwards – probably the most unique door design we’ve ever seen.

And then there’s the Maybach Landaulet, tied at 7th for $1.3 million. This is not your typical super speed car and looks more like a sedan-sized limo, which it just what it is. The rear part of the car has a retractable roof, but the front remains closed, where the driver, presumably, stays focused on the road.

Numbers 8 and 9 are back to the sleek and fast look that is particular to especially expensive cars. The Zenvo ST1 is available for $1.2 million and the Hennessey Venom GT is available for $1.1 million, and tied for that 9th place spot is the McLaren P1.
